It's all go on site at the Durham Ox! As we get closer to handover we thought we'd share our initial mood boards and visuals and of course some exciting progress shots of the site!
Here is one of our initial mood boards with consists of warm toned timbers, tan leathers, floral fabrics, and quirky features throughout the interiors and exterior of the pub.
The exterior is to have weathered, countrified and botanical feel. There will be an old tractor to the external area, a rustic timber picket fence to the perimeter, ivy to trail the facade of the building and sage green shutters to the windows.
The bar area consists of a polished timber bar front and back bar with floral wall-coverings, a decorative Victorian style mirror above the stone fireplace, with a mixture of comfy burnt orange and blue, velvet arm chairs and sage green timber chairs. All creating a warm and ambient atmosphere to the bar area.
The new restaurant will be light, whimsical and have a shabby-chic feel to it. This will be created by white washed vertical timber wall cladding, decorative wall lights, a rustic timber waiter unit filled with bric a brac to give the feeling of being in a country kitchen. Reclaimed timber table tops and chairs with seat pads upholstered in a range of velvet and floral fabrics.
The new external terrace area is to receive a new timber pergola structure with festoon lighting entwined and lavender tied around the vertical posts. The terrace area will have chunky timber tables and bench seating with a sage green wash, box planters, new bi-folding doors, flagstone paving and timber sleeper style seating with comfy upholstered seat pads and cushions.
The TA team are very excited as we can see our vision for the Durham Ox beginning to come together! Check out some of our photos below of the progress on site of the new restaurant extension with a large window to the rear of the space. A new pergola structure and front door are also being installed to the external area. There is also a new raised area with blackened mild steel and glass balustrade to the dining area.
We can not wait to share to the final results of this project we you all!
Watch this space!
