Project Detail:

Cold Town House, Edinburgh

Working in collaboration with Ian Forbes Architects, Tibbatts Abel transformed this former Mission Hall into a brewhouse & restaurant to create a flagship site for the new Cold Town Beer brewery in the heart of the Grassmarket area of Edinburgh.

The space was defined into a bar, restaurant & brewery and roof terrace with a focus on the in-house brewery and celebrating the creation of beer. The bar areas feature semi-industrial elements and were combined with marble, polished timber and brass details to create an old meets new interior which is warm and welcoming. Elsewhere the pizza and prosecco restaurant features a striking exposed brewery with softer finishes and planting to create a female friendly space with a suspended DJ booth overseeing proceedings. The roof terrace space was transformed to maximise the outstanding views of Edinburgh castle with quirky and sculptural features combining to create the perfect space to spend a lazy summer afternoon.
